Aximsitewifiicon My Tilt cannot to a wireless signal - - says check setting or service provider

I just bought the AT&T tilt on Saturday. I have been trying to configure it but i haven't been able to use the Wi-Fi to connect to the internet. I have tried everything i know but i can't get my wi-fi to work. I deleted the MediaNet proxy... But i cannot get it to connect to the internet... i am getting frustrated. Has anyone had a similar problem?

When i try to connect to a wireless signal, it tells me that "It cannot connect, and that i should check my setting or contact my service provider"..something like that. Does anyone no of a fix for something like this?

More info please. What kind of Wifi are you connecting to? Is it security enabled? Are you able to use the Tilts 3G to connect to the internet?

I also have the same problem. I am trying to connect to my work wifi it is not secure. They have a log in screen but all you have to do is click ok to accpet there internet rules. I am able to connect to the 3g network and surf the internet there but when I disable the 3g and force it to go to my wifi it gives me the connection settings error.

Thanks for asking. I went to school today, and i was able to connect to the internet. So when i got home, i tried everything again, but i couldn't use the wifi in my own network. So i called DLink, maker of my router. After calling 4 times and speaking to 3 different morons, I finally spoke to a guy who knows his what he was saying. All i needed to do was to turn off the MAC address filter on my router and i am good to go... Sweet, so i can browse the internet on my wifi... AT&T tilt Rocks!!!

The good and bad

It's good that you can connect at home but now you have turned off a pretty good source of security on your home network router.
What the "moron" should have told you was to look at the system info on your smartphone and write down the mac address for you network device.
Then go to your MAC Address list on your DLink router and add the MAC address to your allowed list. This would have given you Internet access and still allowed you to keep your current security intact.

ok thats good for home but what about at work or where there is a public wifi connection. Im assuming they wont let me log into there router and set my phone to trusted... what should my wifi settings be set to? i have tired it again and am able to get to the would you like to connect to the hot spot screen but then the connection is disconnected or apperes to time out. Then when I try again it just says "opening..." and nothing happens.
