hello, i was curious if anyone else has problems with ms word mobile opening up documents very slowly?
it takes 40 seconds to open a 32.3k file...larger files are take too long to time. this gets very annoying when i need to look something up in front of some one quickly.
i was curious if upgrading to an htc rom might fix this?

40 seconds is much too long to open a file.

Are you opening a file on a storage card? The delay could be due to card access or read time. As a rule I find it better to save documents on the device rather then a card. If you need to store them on a card, try a new or faster card.

Also, how much RAM are you using? If your available memory is running low, everything slows down. I try to keep 10 to 20 percent of RAM free. Free up RAM by going into task manager and killing running programs you are done with, or restart to clear the decks.

Lastly, I have not used Mobile Word for ages, but you could try Docs to Go. I have yet to have a problem with it.

40 secs is crazy too long ;(

my files are all stored on the device, i tried switching them to and from the card with no difference in speed... still verry slow. even after closing all open processes...

i did notice that some files that were imported from an older treo with win mobile 5.o open fairly quickly but none of the files that i create do...

i will try docs to go tonight and hope that helps..
