Tilt Drivers....

Ok, there was a a big deal made about the fact that the Diamond had these video drivers that everyone on XDA was begging for. It's been almost 6 weeks and I have heard nothing more. I have seen all kinds of Diamond apps. Does anyone know what's going on? Can they get the drivers to work on a Tilt? Is there a ROM out there with the drivers in it? Thanks

there still working on them from what i gather. Im not sure about this whole driver issue though so far i have had no problems with my tilts display. I dont play 3d games though nor do i watch DVD rips on the phone. I am currently running the newest official at&t rom its what came on my phone. If anyone out there is running the offical rom update and say pocketquake or watching divx's. i would really like to know if there is any problems. Ive owned an ipaq 3650 and an axim 3 im sure pockequake doesnt run any slower on the tilt? I currently just dont have enough storage for any of that stuff.

I have the ATT ROM as well. I watch movies everyday. I don't play Quake or anything like that. I have Guitar Hero, Ms. Pacman. I don't know what the driver issue is. But I had to read through about 10 threads and 4,000 posts filled with anger about this. The only thing that annoys me with my Tilt is the slow screen adjustment when you slide it out. Is this the drivers? I don't know.

well i put pocketquake on my tilt last night and benchmarked it. It runs at 11.8 frames per second i use to get 24 on my axim x30 with a 624mhz proccesor and like 8 on my ipaq 3650. 11.8 is pretty solid for a device with a 400mhz processor. Although it is rendered in software mode so i think the is more of a processor issue, im not sure new video drivers would do anything unless they have hella 2d acceleration.

As far as video's and the like ive been having a real problem, lately i just started downloading podcasts with RSS hub these are all in an asf format and they play horrible there so choppy. Im thinking of ripping some videos later to see how good the playback is on a tilt without drivers.

Anyways for those of you have slow 2d response with kb sliding or windows being drawn all i can say is flash to a winmo 6.1 lite rom. My response in windows is alot better than with the stock rom. The screen redraws so much quicker when i slide the kb out and i hardly ever get the lag issue when pressing the start menu.

I really hope these diamond drivers work well for im excitied. I do alot of programming as a hobby and back in the day i use to be pretty involved at pocketmatrix with pocketquake, and i was part of a mod team for quake3 (the mod was never released, sometimes thats how shit goes). If these drivers come out i really want to see what it would take to get pocketquake running in openGL it would be nice to run quake at 30 or 40 fps in GL. The last ppc i bought the axim x30 was fast but it didnt have 3d acceleration, i didnt even know ppc's had support for openGL now until i read the class action site for the tilt drivers.

Yes, I do. Read my first post. It was a day before the article. It's almost as if I willed this with my mind . I hope we get 'um too. XDA makes you feel like we were cheated out of something from HTC. The worst part is I don't know what the hell I was cheated out of. The beauty of the MOB mentality.

I have to agree, never owening a ppc with 3d/2d acceleration of any kind i have no idea what its like. A few days after i got the tilt and found out about the whole driver issue i was really bumbed even though i have never seen a ppc with opengl/d3d support. Then i sorda got over it since i didnt even bargin for that when i bought it. I also got the tilt for a very decent price i was originally in the market for a palm 750 with windows mobile but since they were out they gave me the tilt for 199, so i have nothing to complain about! Anyways im pretty excited to see what the exeleration can do if its anywhere near the speed of a voodoo 2 that will be totally awesome.

In other news i dont know if you guys keep up much on the newest tek coming out but sometime soon nvidia is releasing a phone that should be capable of playing games based on the q3 engine and it has a much prettier interface. It is going to rock the diamonds world im my opion its suppose to get 14 hours of battery life and play HD quality videos wich can be streamed to a tv. msrp is 200-250 dollars and it runs win mobile!
