New owner, need help.
My step father gave me his old Tilt as he found it too complicated. I've noticed that the quick menu is not active. How can I reactivate it?
Also, for downloading new themes and such from the site, should I do it from my comp and then transfer it to my phone? If so, where do I place the downloaded items? Thanks!

If you are starting from scratch, you may want to consider doing a Hard Reset, this will wipe all of your step fathers data and any changes he might have made to the device.
After a Hard Reset it will be as it was when he took it out of the box. Any extra software that he may have installed would be removed and all the original software and settings would be restored. But first, you may just need to do a Soft Reset to get things running again. A Soft Reset is just like rebooting your computer. It will close any open programs and restart fresh. I'm not familiar with the layout of the tilt, but the reset button is usually hidden in a small hole on the side or back of the device. Just push the tip of the stylus into the hole to press the button and it will soft reset. You won't lose anything doing this. As for themes etc, generally download to your computer and transfer over or install them directly from the computer. Where you put them depends on what they are. As a general rule: .exe files need to be installed from the PC using Active Sync or WMDC. .cab files can be transfered to the tilt anywhere and then run on the tilt to install the program. themes, skins etc need to be placed in the appropriate folder of the tilt for the program they relate to. Feel free to ask more specific questions.

The soft reset hole is above and to the right of the miniUSB connector on the bottom edge of the Tilt

Thanks for all the help guys!
I've been looking for the HTCHome plugin, but can't find it. If I were to find it and download it, where on my Tilt would I place it to run it? Also, what folder do themes go in?

The thing I hate most about trying to figure out a new device is feeling like I need someone to hold my hand the whole way through. :/
Well, I'll try to make this the last question...at least for a while. All my music is on iTunes, I just installed WMP10 so I could port the music to my AT&T Tilt, however, the music in iTunes wont move to WMP10. Beyond that, I see no way to move the files from my music folder on my PC to my Tilt without using WMP10's Synch function. Any advice is greatly appreciated

I'm sorry to say, I don't bother with themes, I could guess and tell you were to put them, but I'm sure someone else will pipe up and tell you about them.
I also don't use Itunes, I hate anything that forces you to put files in a specific place. However, if your music files are MP3s you can simply copy them to your tilt and play them from there. You can create a "music" folder and put them in it, or even a folder called "I hate itunes" will work. Putting it all on an SD card, or I assume, a mini SD for the tilt, is easier, faster and can hold more than the device memory. You can copy them using a card reader, fastest way, or you can copy them using Active Sync. Find the files on your computer, select, copy, find the folder you want to put them in on the card or using the explore feature of Active sync, then paste. Open WMP and look for the file, I think you need to go to the library and search from there. There are other better players than WMP, TCPMP comes to mind first, easy and free. If your music is itune specific, then I'm not sure how to help you. Although, I think you can sync itunes to a card. Don't be frightened of asking more questions, but also feel free to read, just about every question imaginable has already been answered here somewhere.
