[Help]Podcast/Videocast program. Also an RSS question.

Hi,

I am looking for a program that will allow me to stream podcasts and videocasts on my ATT Tilt. I have tried a couple of programs including SPB Insight, PocketPlayer, and Newsbreak. But each has a problem:

Insight: Love the program, but you have to download podcasts and videocasts.
PocketPlayer: Allows for streaming of podcasts, but doesn't support videocasts.
Newsbreak: Doesn't allow for streaming. You have to download podcasts and videocasts.

I want to watch videocasts like Countdown with Keith Olberman and listen to ESPN radio podcasts!

My RSS question: Why is it that when I use SPB Insight, some articles I get in full (ie Opinion articles from Yahoo), but others I only get one-line RSS feeds (ie ESPN)? Is there a way to get full articles without going to the website?

As always, your help is much appreciated!

Coreplayer will stream podcasts...

although I don't see the benefit of streaming them. Why would I want to do that instead of downloading them?

The authors who establish their RSS feeds set an option to include the full article in the feed or just a few lines of the article. This topic has been debated back and forth. Some folks want to drive traffic to their website so they won't provide the full article while others are not so obsessed with website traffic so they provide full articles.

Is there a way to tell which one is which?

Or do I just have to add the xml link and see what happens?

You have not obviously used Newsbreak. I think that this is the program you want. You can subscribe to whatever podcasts/videocasts you want and you may want to specify automatic updates. You then select which ones you want to listen to. Depending on your network speeds, these are downloaded quickly and can be played immediately. If you want to listen to podcasts as they do happen, they are no longer "podcasts", they are actual streams and for that you need a browser who will be able to play the audio and/or video. In this case, Skyfire may do, although it is in beta.

Overall, you need to decide if you want to listen to podcasts (always downloadable) or to streams. Podcasts can be played at any time, streams can only be heard when they occur. If saved, they become podcasts and videocasts!!!
