Mad HTC bluetooth pairing with Jawbone I

Hello,

I recently purchased a Jawbone and have had trouble pairing with my device.
I wanted to know what devices are compatible with the first generation
Jawbone. I have and At&T tilt and have not been successful pairing the
device. I've done the trouble shooting and it has not helped. The only issue
I have is when I go to connect my AT&T tilt picks up "RTPR060027" as the
jawbone and when I go to enter the passcode it comes back with an error
message stating "your device did not connect with RPTR060027. The
connnection failed or the passcode is incorrect."

I tried one more attempt before hitting bed and it said that the RPTR060027 was trying to connect to my tilt which again I inserted the default passcode but it still said the same error message.

To my understanding of compatibility is that Bluetooth is universal and any
device that has the capability would be pairable. Please help I really need
to use this device due to a new law passing in California.

Have you tried pairing the Tilt with another BT device and the Jawbone with another phone?

I too have AT&T Tilt, with Jawbone, and pairing has not been an issue before. I know the default pass code for pairing the Jawbone is 0000 when I've done it, and it actually displays as Jawbone when detected by my Tilt. I would possible take the Jawbone back to the retailer to get a replacement and test again. If you haven't soft-reset your Tilt, I would do that. If you can, you may even do a complete Hard-reset of your Tilt, and start from scratch and see if still an issue. HTC does have a public update for the AT&T tilt on their website, that improved the BT on the Tilt. I know I've like the quality of the BT since that update. Good luck!

I also have a Tilt and the Jawbone Gen 1. It connected the 1st time I tried. When you get ready to pair the jb how are you setting it up? I would reset the jb and try again. Use the ear wrap and press the button for 10 seconds, the manual says 3, but mine took 10. Then delete any headsets off your tilt and reset it. The jb needs to be off, then hold the sound shield till the light stays RED. Then (after you have turned on the bluetooth on your tilt) look for the jb. The tilt will find the jb and call it Jawbone. If it does not see the set as Jawbone, the you have not found it. Then enter the password 0000, the jb will blink white and you are connected. If this does not work then your jb is defective and it needs to get replaced. Good luck.

BTY if you hld you phone next to your body and are on the jb, you will get bad static, so make sure the phone has a clear path to the jb.:approve:
