Can Tilt Join Domain for Home Network?

I am wanting to be able to access shared resources on my home computer...and both Tilt and PC are connected through a wireless router...anybody know if it's possible for the Tilt to join my "WORKGROUP" domain on my Vista PC? If so, how the heck do you set that up???

the 'workgroup' domain on your pc is probably not a domain. Its a workgroup!

Resco explorer and Total commander can both attatch to workgroup shares.

I love it when people use "Workgroup" and "Domain" in the same sentance like they are synonyms...

Psionandy is correct for a typical home wireless network. It would merely be a matter of creating a mapped drive in Resco or "new server" with Total Commander CE. Resco is my favorite, but Total Commander, while not as pretty, has the virtue of being free and equally powerful in many ways. Connecting to either should be as simple as entering the proper username/password with permission to access your pc's shares. One minor caveat: The device may occasionally try to enumerate the shares and file structure of the remote drive with certain apps, and it may seem that the device is momentarily frozen when in fact it's simply reading the remote shares. This hasn't been a problem for me, but I've heard of a few others experiencing this.

If you're unfamilar with either app, this is a nice quick review of Total Commander CE's features, and this has a product description for Resco and links to reviews.

Map

You can map to a share using File Explorer on WN6. Go to menu, Open Path and type in the share using the format \\computer\share

Remember all files you open or pull will be using the network and the data rate for the Tilt will probably be pretty slow. If it's a large file, you may just want to pull it into a local file store before opening it.
