CAB vs. EXE???
Hello. Can somebody tell me why when I download a trial version of software that is in the EXE format instead of CAB my tilt says it's not compatible with it? I'm pretty sure I've loaded other software from an EXE file not just CAB files. Am I missing something? I've been trying to install Touch Commander but the downloaded file is exe. Please help. Thanks.

run cabs on your phone and exe on your pc...

Why when I download a trial version then is it giving me an EXE file?? Thanks.

because you have to run it on your pc.... then it will install on your phone.

I guess I've never done it that way. So I install in on my computer, then how do I get it on my phone? Active sync? Does the phone need to be connected to the PC while I install the software? Thanks again for all your help.

Yes. Your device must be connected to your pc via Activesync for Windows XP or WMDC for Windows Vista before you run the .exe file. Then just follow the instructions and it should be a doddle.

Also, when you run an .exe on you PC it actually unpacks the .cab file and places it in a folder under active sync.
You can then take the .cab and place it directly on your phone if you need too.
