TomTom Voice Installation

I have TomTom 6 installed on my Tilt and it works fine with one problem, I can't seem to select a voice. I have the Voices directory located in the root of the SD card and even copied it to the TomTom directory. Still no recognization when I try to select a voice from Personal Preferences. Can anyone help please? I've looked for a directory structure of TomTom with no results so don't know if the voices are located in the wrong place.

From the CD Tom Tom Home, install the voices you want to the device when it is connected.

I have TomTom 6 and add and delete voices all the time. The issue is that TOMTOM does not reconize when you do this. To fix this issue. On your phone find your voices folder. In that folder, there is a file called "collected", Change the name of th filter to something else (incase is does not work). Then start TomTom. Now all the new voices will be there. So far this has worked every time. f you have TomTom 7, this is no longer an issue.

It works!!!!

Thanks for the replies, I finally figured out what was wrong. I had everything located on the SD card and by reinstalling Nav 6 to RAM and moving the Voices folder to the Navigator directory got everything to work. The maps can remain on the SD card but the program must be installed in the Operating System drive.

By the way TomTom on the Tilt is amazing! Very fast and very accurate compared to my Magellan. However it does draw a lot of power and a car adapter is a must if you use it for a long time. Of course I'll be getting a 4400mah battery in the near future. Next step, checking out the camera capabilities. LOL

I got a 2800 mAh battery and it lasts 2days or so, plus it was only$18+ shipping. The 4400 mAh looks nice but it is bulky and very epensive compared to what is out there. I always buy my cell accs from perfectEsell on ebay. I have had the battery for 2 months and I am very pleased. I also keep the OEM battery just in case i forget to charge the extended one. I have found that when plugged in, you still loose battery power when plugged in and when running tomtom (well any prgram that uses the GPS). Here is the link to the battery I ordered: 2800mAh EXTENDED LIFE BATTERY FOR HTC AT&T TILT 8925 - eBay (item 230284791075 end time Aug-27-08 22:02:45 PDT)
