I am new to the forums and could not find any information on the following.
I am nearing the end of my Verizon contract. I plan to move my numbers on a family share plan to an AT&T plan. Is the best place to get a Tilt at the AT&T Store, or should I look elsewhere?

Thanks in advance!
I checked prices for my sister(she has Nextel) about three weeks ago. Amazon and Buy.com had much cheaper prices than ATT Stores and ATT online.

Are there any advantages or disadvantages with Amazon? With current prices, I can get three phones for my family share plan for much, much cheaper than in the store.
Do some comparsion: check with AT&T and see if they will beat Amazon, etc for the Tilt along with new service.
Let them know you're a serious shopper - I got
almost free phones
that way.

If I go with Amazon, will I have to go through them for warranty? I assume I can't bring the phone to the store if purchased from Amazon?
If something happens within the first thirty days, you contact Amazon. After that the one year manufacture's warranty is handled by ATT just like any other phone. You have to read the fine print with Amazon. You have to keep your service for six months, are you will have pay some of the discount back. I have three friends that bought phones from them with no problems.

Thanks, that is exactly what I needed to know. I don't plan on switching before six months and will likely setup auto-pay, so I should be alright with Amazon's fine print.
Check out Walmart online... I just signed up for a family plan and received two Tilts absolutely free. I didn't have to mail in a rebate and they included a free 1GB micro SD card and a free $25 download certificate for each phone to boot. A new two year contract is required and you have to keep the PDA data plan for at least six months.

All I can say is WOW....
This has always amazed me... The best deals go to "new" customers but the loyal ones get scewed

I totally agree... I've been with AT&T since way back before Cingular. When they wouldn't play nice, I had my husband open a new account to get the free Tilts, then dropped my old account without penalty. Two years down the road when his contract is up, I'll be "new" again. There's more than one way to get to Dublin.
dealtime dot com, pricegrabber dot com, google shopping, expansys, craigslist, and ebay (in no particular order)
good luck. i purchased my tytn 2 from mobile planet (expansys) when it came out. thats where you get breaking technology, not where you save $$ however
