Slide open causing reboots after official 6.1

Since I upgraded to the official AT&T 6.1 ROM, my Tilt has soft reset three times randomly when sliding open the keyboard.

One time was while the unit was on and I was in IE.

The other two times the unit was off and locked with S2U2. Basically I slid the keyboard open the screen lit up, then immediately went black. 2 seconds later it vibrates and the AT&T pops up as it reboots.

It doesn't happen all the time, just randomly ... which is even more annoying.

Anyone else experience this?

i would consider a full backup, hard reset, and reflashing the rom in that order.

this is one of those situations where i would consider backing up and thinking about stability when reconfiguring your device. s2ul 2 is still buggy imo

best of luck

Well the fact that it happened once while the unit was ON and unlocked would rule out S2U2. And it just happened again while on and unlocked.

I also noticed it doesn't actually reboot itself, it just goes dead like you held the power button down and turned the device OFF. It only reboots when I hit the power button to turn it back on.

are you using short_power.lnk or long_power.lnk files to initiate any programs? that may be the culprit.

look in your /windows directory and see if theyre in there

If I recall you can set those links to change the behavior of certain buttons (call, end, power ...) whether you do a short press or long press.

I am not using either of those tricks.

I uninstalled S2U2 just to see if I get a different reaction.

I've also noticed that sometimes turning the unit on, it immediately turns off again.

Looks like I have a hard reset in my future. I hate not knowing what is destabilizing it. It could just be some of my software that ran fine on 6.0, but isn't liking 6.1.

This is what I have installed:
  • 1-Calc 3.2.7 = 1134
  • DinarSoft MemMaid 2.3
  • Fann Soft Simple Timers
  • Google Maps
  • HTC Task Manager 2.0.30995.1 Dutty = 627
  • Ilium Software ewallet = 1432
  • Inbox Extender = 18
  • iNav iGuidance = 11616
  • Kaiser TweakFeb2008 = 437
  • Landware Pocket Quicken 2.5 = 1035
  • Live Search Mobile
  • Marsware Weatherpanel 2.5 = 2399
  • Mike Miller's SuperDoku
  • MS CF .Net 3.5
  • Mort's Mortscript 4.1 = 176
  • NewsBreak 2.1 = 968
  • PhoneWeaver 1.2.2 = 736
  • s2U2 1.18 = 2339
  • Schap’s Advanced Config Tool 3.0 = 383
  • SipChange = 222
  • tascalSoft CloseAll 0.40 = 16
  • Total Commander 2.5 Beta3 = 454

agreed, i would reflash the rom after a hard reset to be on the safe side. sometimes the rom will get installed and youll have issues even if the device comes up and is visually functional. its a best practice in this case to reflash the rom
