Issue after updating to 6.1, please help

I have a few minor issues that I'm willing to deal with until I find a fix or whatnot, but the one issue that I'm EXTREMELY bummed about is that now, after updating to 6.1, I can't seem to use custom ringtones AT ALL :( I've tried copying the SAME mp3s I used before to the My Ringtones folder under My Documents as well as the Rings folder under Windows and when I go to the settings menu to set teh ring, they do not show up... Also... When I choose to make the mp3 file itself the new ringtone directly, it confirms my choice, but it doesn't actually do it. Please help... If I can't fix this, I'll be going back to WM6... I love threaded SMS and all that jazz, but to hell with standard ringtones... NO WAY!!!

Thanks,

Thanks for the reply, but that doesn't work either... I've dumped them into the \My Documents\My Ringtones, the \Windows\Rings AND the \Windows folders... Nothing works. I can play the files with Pocket Media PLayer just fine. If I "right-click" on the mp3 directly and select "Set as ringtone", it confirms that the file is now the current ringtone, but it actually isn't and STILL does not show up in the drop down as an available ringtone.

Just spent almost 20mins on the phone with HTC, their only solution was to sync with Windows Media Player vs just dragging and dropping through Windows and ActiveSync as I always have, which didn't work either.

Honestly, the only reason I updated was for the threaded SMS, but I'd rather have custom ringtones than that, so I may just try to go back to WM6.

Soooooo stupid that THIS is the only major issue I have and it's one I can't live with...standard idiot ringtones...uggghhhh.

The 6.1 update limits the size of files you can use as ringtones.

Read this to find the fix.
