ATTN IKEHIKER - Wifi Router

I asked this question over at the "tiltsite" and Chris Leckness asked me to post it here with this title "ATTN IKEHIKER - Wifi Router"!

I'm able to use my TILT with "WMWifiRouter" as a WIFI Router with my personal computer just fine,
but when I use it with my company computer the company computer will not let me use a device to device ad-hoc wireless connection.
My question is:
Is it possible to accomplish this without using ad-hoc or is there a program
out there that will let me set up my tilt as a wireless router that is not
device to device ad-hoc?
I do not have admin rights to my company computer to allow ad-hoc connections!
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you,
Steven

in the past i have used a 3rd party utility to enable gprs and edge sharing of my device with my laptop. it may, however, require admin provs to install on your desktop client

Thank you for the information!
I'll look it over.
I just don't have admin rights to my company laptop so I won't be able to add any software to it.
I was just looking for a way to have my TILT broadcast that it is not a device to device ad-hoc, or a program that I could install on my TILT that would make my company laptop think that it was seeing just a regular WLAN.

Thank you,
Steven

I'm glad you got an answer. I've been traveling the past few days and haven't had web access. I'm afraid I could not provide any possible solutions in any case.

another more sophisticated way of having network access outside your companies intranet would be to set up a secure vpn to a computer at your house or other trusted source.

bandwidth is your only concern in that case.

i dont believe you need admin privs to set up vpn access. ill have to do some testing. security policies have there place, of course.

just a thought.

You guys are great! I appreciate the responses.
I'll look into the VPN as well.
Thank you,
Steven
