Are there are any programs or cabs that will allow me to switch the back light on & off? I installed the htc oem 6.1 rom and now the (display switch) icon is no longer on my phone. I use this program with my PTT button to turn off that back light when I'm using a program like WifiR to save battery life. I have found cabs that allow the different brightness settings with each push, but they never go completely out. I just need on & off. Thanks in advance.

I haven't tried it, so I don't know how well it works, but I believe this program will do exactly what you want it to.

im pretty sure the latest and greatest version of psshutxp has the ability to turn off the display AND map to a physical button
