Orange Light of Death after 6.1 Upgrade

ROM upgrade went great, and per the instructions after the fact I did a restore from a Sprite backup directly after.

The restore took, the phone rebooted, and went through the 3G animation - then nothing, black screen, no response, and a solid orange light.

Can't reflash because I can't start activesync. Any suggestions?

How about a factory reset? Lots of bacckup software these days purport to being able to restore a backup file to a newly updated device (or even a completely different device), but I wouldn't do it for the reason you describe here.

Perform a factory reset and set the device up from scratch.

I have ZERO faith in a backup from a different ROM/version

Hard Reset - sprite backup also restored files from 6.0.

Don't use sprite back-up unless you plan on doing a restore using the same ROM. A ROM upgrade usually means starting over at square one with re-installing your programs.

If your device powers on, then you should be able to extract the .nbh file using winrar. Then load then rom from your sd card. I am not exactly sure of the process though with the tilt. I have done it with my 8525. I would post over at the XDA-developers.com & read through their WIKI.

Help!! I did the same thing and now have a blank screen after a soft reset. How do you do a factory reset using the keys (which keys) and the stylus. I've tried every combo I can think of.

HArd Reset

Yep, had to do a hard reset -

Press and hold left soft button.
Press and hold Right soft button.Press reset on bottom with Stylus (small hole).
Will reset - in my case it took a long time to reset, at least a few minutes fo staring at a screen.

Thanks to everyone else for their help!
