Tilt Windows Mobile 6.1 Problem Thread

sometimes when txting and switching to landscape mode(by sliding up the screen) my txt starts appearing insanely low on screen to the point where only the top half of my letters displays on screen.

I have this problem too...it's EXTREMELY annoying!

With the 6.0 ROM I was able to set 4C07 in the regsitry to allow me to assign a button funtion when pressing and holding the PTT for several seconds. Now every time I create the key and then do a soft reset the key is deleted. Bummer.

I'm tired of posting my complaints on this site :( Hopefully, we can figure out some work arounds. First off... I have experienced the flashing as well, but mine does it every minute or so. I have Nikagi(?) Kaiser Tweak with Sleep and Flash Sleep disabled. When not in use, I lock my phone and push the power button to turn off screen. Secondly...GPS? I haven't gotten a lock in three weeks. I have Tom Tom 6, Live Search, Google Maps. Nothing has gotten a lock. Keep in mind I'm on my third Tilt since the update came out! Third...Flash Video Bundle! Download the recomp TCPMP 3(whatever it's called). It's still doesn't work. Fourth...SRS WOW HD. Doesn't work! Downloaded the one for 6.1 ROMs. Work a couple of times, then it disable all sounds on my phone. Soft Reset..nothing. Tried it on two different phones same result. Five...Tilt freezes for several seconds. I have no bloat installed. 75.86MB Storage and 47.34MB Program free. Six...Icons randomly disappear the phone. Once I flashed my second replacement phone and loaded my apps, the next day the Skyfire icon an Coreplayer were gone. There was the Microsoft logo in their places. When I tried to select them it didn't work. The apps were there, as I was able to use them with file explorer. Finally my third replacement as soon as I flashed it the IM icon was missing(Hell it's still missing!) Most of my apps worked so I have kept this phone. I would also like to mention every phone I flashed with this ROM were brand new phones from ATT(It was funny because I got the first one from a store the day before the ROM came out and it had WM6 on it) Sorry for the long post but I was try to give as much info as possible to come up with some solutions.

I've noticed things are slow to respond after touching the screen (to open a program, the start menu, everything), even "freezing" for a second or two, then responding. I have 45MB of 85MB program memory free. I don't seem to have to push on the screen any harder, but have noticed twice that what opened was a good finger-width away from where I pressed.



Have good battery life.

Ditto for me on both counts. I noticed it playin SPB Freecell so I loaded an old MS version and it still lags. The device seems like it is busy doing somrthing else, but no other programs are running and no screen taps are stored and then run as is normally the case when things are just bogged down.

I have the power flashing problem also. Operamini seems to freeze up all the time. I use ATT Navigator and never get a signal. It used to be real slow but forget it now. I wonder what everyone else experiences with ATT Navigator?

my stupid alarm keeps going off for no reason. its not set and the times are not set at the times it goes off.

always at 6am, 11am, 12pm, and 10pm. why is it doing this????

I have had my Tilt hang on the Windows Mobile 6.1 screen when soft reseting from the interface itself or Sprite Backup. When I use the Stylus to soft reset it comes back fine and does not hang. I have also had a lot of random lockups, power button issues, data connection issues, etc, that have required a reset. I have not played with the GPS much but it I remember it taking forever to get a lock. I installed with the bloatware.

you need to remove the PTT service from the registry, and your buttons will be back to normal

The whole reason I upgraded to 6.1 with this new ROM flash was so that I could have threaded texts. The upgrade went fine, i checked the version and it matches the newest ROM. But I dont' have threaded (conversation-like) sms messages.

Is there something wrong?

1. TCPMP doesn't work at all. I bought Coreplayer instead and it works. (Someone wrote that there is a new compilation of TCPMP available. IF so it is too late for me).
2. LeNG foreign language support made the phone hang up and it would only reboot by removing the battery.
3. I had to readjust the sensitivity of the touch screen with a reg tweak which worked.
4. Spb mobile shell speed-dial contacts keep disappearing. Someone recommended uninstalling and reinstalling, but I haven't tried that since I have so many tweaks to the Spb interface, it takes forever to rebuild it the way I want.
5. LONNNNNG wait on GPS fix. (if ever).

Yes, I contacted the company a few weeks ago... NONE of the LeNG languages
work with WM6.1 yet. While they are (will be?) working on it, they do not know how long it will take for them to come up with a WM6.1 version yet. I also have no idea if a fix for one language, fixes them all (in terms of how long it'll take for them to release the language that you're looking for).

I've loaded the new ROM and have tried repeatedly to avoid loading the bloatware as described by several people, but my TILT refuses to do anything before loading the customization files. Very annoying. Plus, my touchscreen sensitivity sucks with the new 6.1. I've loaded the KaiserTweak to attempt to adjust it, but it doesn't do anything to help either. I'm about ready to chuck this thing and get the Touch Pro when it come out and move over to Sprint.

the entire OS hangs for a good ten
seconds randomly, on PIE and opera mini the text is invisible when I slide out the keyboard, I also get the power button screen flash

Just to let everybody know, in my first post, I said that the screen flash issue happened only occasionally, but in the last couple of days, it is occurring at a much greater rate. Now, I get it almost every time I turn on the phone.
