I am experiencing one major problem and two minor problems since updating:

1. I am having significant problems connecting to the EDGE network for Internet, synchronization and other data uses. This is not a problem during the day when I am connected through the 3G network; it happens only when I am at home at night where there is no 3G service and the phone must use EDGE. The only way to get it to connect is to soft reset the device multiple times. The number of times seems to vary. Also, when this happens, I notice that the battery drains very quickly. I did not notice this problem when I first upgraded the ROM and let the ATT bloatware load. I noticed it only after I performed a subsequent hard reset and did a soft reset before the bloatware could load.

2. Sometimes when I press the power button on the right side of the Tilt to turn it on, I see a quick flash but the device doesn't stay on. I then have to press the power button again to turn it on. It doesn't happen all the time--I would say about once every 10 times turning on the device.

3. This could be a problem with the very buggy Opera 9.5 beta, but when I load up Opera, I frequently get a multi-colored flash of lines before the home page appears. Nothing serious, but annoying.

Audio loss with 6.1(Random)

In general I really like the new 6.1 update on my ATT Tilt. I came from another pre-ATT version and the ATT version is more stable. With one BIG acception; sometimes I lose all audio, even with all indications that everything is fine. I've seen posts with multiple guesses as to the cause but no one has it really debugged yet. Mine happens when it is on the cigarette adapter, cruising around, often about 3:30 PM PDT and it seems to "fix" itself by 6PM. Warm boots don't cure it and turning things on and off have no effect.
my 2 cents

Takes a very VERY long time to get a GPS fix now that I upgraded. Used to be decently fast to get the fix that I could start my car and get going and would usually get the signal within a few blocks. Now I have to stand still a good 7 to 8 minutes before getting a fix.

When using GPS test, I cans ee that I get signal from satellites as quickly as before, but the GPS doesn't turn to ready before .. forever. I'm considering rolling to a cooked rom if it changes anything, and eventually back to 6.0 if that's even possible as I am a fairly big user of the integrated GPS function.

Bugs

I also see the problem with the power button - click once, screen flashes, goes back off. Requires second press to activate. Happens quite often, but I can't quantify.

Touch screen sensitivity also seems to be worse. My Tilt always was less responsive than other devices I have used. I really noticed when I brought out an old ppc-6700 for my kids to play with. I could barely touch the screen and it picked the touch. With the Tilt I have to exert quite a bit of force to get it to register during screen alignment.

I have tried some of the registry tweaks for the touchscreen, but they don't seem to help.

One more thing

The backlight timeout keeps resetting to 10 seconds. I have followed the tips on XDA developers, but it keeps restting itself. It will stick for a little while then revert to 10 seconds. I can't figure out why.

Problems I have encountered so far with the new 6.1 rom:

1. Touch screen became "touchy". once in a while, it would register a touch on a different part of the screen than I was touching. This would cause unexpected apps to launch, etc.

- Solution that appears to work - load Advanced Configuration or KaiserTweek and change the TouchFlow sensitivity to normal.

2. GPS - Works one day, doesn't work then next, unless I do the quickGPS download again daily. Really painful so far. Haven't found a solution. :realmad: :realmad: :realmad:

3. Power button - press it to turn on the screen, and the screen flashes on and off. This happens when your screen is on, and you don't touch the phone, and after the timeout the phone turns off. The next time you push the power button to turn it back on, it flashes and goes back off.

- the solution i'm experimenting with - go to your Power control panel, advanced tab, change the device time out, save it, then change it back. This seems to have eliminated the problem. I'm guessing maybe out of the box there is some bad registry data that the control panel fixes.
- Well, still seeing the problem several hours later, so thats not it. bummer.

4. I didn't install the "bloatware". Then I tried to assign button 6 to voice command. Every time I restarted the phone, it got reset back to PTT. Had to remove the PTT service from the registry. I have read that a lot of people are not experiencing this (but some are), so I'm wondering if the bloatware changes the PTT service.

And besides these 3 issues I'm having, I'm also having problems with IGO8 (licensed copy).

After performing an HR and and then an SR to remove the bloatware, I installed IGO8 and was able to obtain a GPS fix (took a while, though, unlike with the previous standard ATT ROM).

I then started loading all my other apps, every now and then checking that IGO8 was still in working order.

But eventually, I'd reach a point where IGO wouldn't get a GPS fix. I then went to the GPS setup screen, and found that the "GPS active" checkbox was unchecked. I ticked it and exited the screen, but every time IGO8 would lose this setting. And this happened no matter in which order I loaded the apps. And obviously IGO8 won't obtain a GPS fix without this setting.
I even tried addind some specific GPS section int he sys.txt file.

After numerous attempts and over 20 hours with this, I finally gave up and reverted to the previous standard ATT ROM. And now IGO8 works like a charm.

And in addition, I had the same issue with Efficasoft GPRS monitor - it wouldn't save the setting in which I marked the connection to be monitored.

sometimes when txting and switching to landscape mode(by sliding up the screen) my txt starts appearing insanely low on screen to the point where only the top half of my letters displays on screen. being able to change scroll bar sizes would've been nice as all of mine are way smaller than they were in 6.0.
I can't use "speak it" with At&t navigator(not really the tilts fault just saying) cause I have to hold the "space bar" to use my voice command.
screen seems a lot more sensitive...flicking up and down through pages is kinda tricky as it often thinks I selected something when really I didn't intend to.
start bar still looks like crap.

Voice Dailing

One major change I experienced after upgrading to 6.1 is I can no longer do voice dialing the same way. Back in 6.0, I am able to push the multi-function button on my Bluetooth headset to launch the voice dial function. Does anybody know what is the new function in 6.1 to do that? Thanks.

I have google maps and Opera Mobile 8.65 installed, and loaded 6.1 without the "bloat". I used to have quite a time getting a gps fix in google maps on my house (I do live in the sticks), and usually it was "your location within 1000 feet" as the best I could do. Now, after slightly more time than before, I get a bead on my house every time, right down to the blue dot on my roof.

The power button, like others said, has "flashed" on mine just a couple times. What I do notice more regular is after pushing the button, a couple seconds later, it will "glow" for about one second...not a bright glow, but more faint. Does that 2 or 3 times about every 3rd or 4th time I push the button. Change that: NOW when I push the power button it does the glowing thing about every 30 to 45 seconds for about a second at a time, and will continue to do that for as long as I want to watch it happen.

I've noticed things are slow to respond after touching the screen (to open a program, the start menu, everything), even "freezing" for a second or two, then responding. I have 45MB of 85MB program memory free. I don't seem to have to push on the screen any harder, but have noticed twice that what opened was a good finger-width away from where I pressed.

I set up 6 "favorite people" the day 6.1 came out, have used them with no problem. Yesterday I go to make a call and all six are gone (still in the contacts, just gone from "favorite people")

Have good battery life.

Sorry for rambling

I'm having the same two issues. Testing the theory that it only happens after the screen turns itself off now.
---Tested it and that theory is out the window...at least for me anyway. On my phone it is definitely a random thing.

As for Opera, that's Opera. It did it to me on 6.0 and 6.1

I've also noticed when using Opera mini and mobile that while scrolling, especially when a photo zooms by, the screen seems to have a slightly odd diagonal refresh or something but maybe that's just me. It's not an issue so no biggie I guess.

Tilt WM 6.1 Problems

I have also had problems with the WM6.1. Flashed without the Bloat. I have seen many times the power on Flash problem that everyone else has. I have never had to reset the phone much but now I have to reset alot more. I also use Inav Iguidance for gps. It freezes on the map and does not move until refreshed by touching the screen. I fixed the problem by reading this thread on
XDA Developers. AT&T Tilt, Windows Mobile 6.1 & iGuidance (oh MY!) - xda-developers
