Hmm Bluetooth headphones won't reconnect

I've had my Tilt for three days now, and I'm loving it! However, I'm having trouble with my bluetooth headphones, the Phillips VOX340. It paired up fine, and worked great until I powered the headphones off. Now, when I turn it back on, shouldn't the Tilt automagically recognize the signal and reroute the sound to the headphones? Is there a step I've missed somewhere? (And yes, I made sure the Tilt's bluetooth is turned on.)

check the profiles in the Bluetooth settings for the device. Make sure the profiles you want it to use are checked.

soft reset the phone

power cycle the headset

Try this

BTaudiotoggle

Install it then map a key to it (I use the mornically redundant "Ok" button below the PTT button) and this will switch the audio from thre device speaker to the BT headset

Interesting little program, rogue9... it must not use the regular BT stack or something, because when I run it, it does indeed route the audio to the headphones, but the sound is extremely tinny and scratchy.

Experimenting over the weekend, I discovered a way to make this work. After powering on the headphones, I have to go to the bluetooth settings, hold-tap the VOX340, and select "Set as wireless stereo". Then I repeat for "Set as hands free". Then it works. It seems so ridiculous that I have to do that every time, if the profiles are already checked, but there you go. Any suggestions for making it automatic upon headphone power-on would be welcomed.

Thanks to radimus and rogue9 for your suggestions so far.
