Possesion by ORANGE of my TyTN II

Ok, here is my problem... I purchased my TyTN II from ORANGE here is France. The installed ORANGE software overrides my ability to install Tom Tom and other software that I may want to put on the phone.

I am thinking about doing a hard reset using the "restore to manufacturers defaults" feature. Before doing that my question is "will I lose the microsoft features (outlook calendar especially, sync, etc) plus other stuff that I use and appreciate on the phone? Will I need to do a "ROM" upload or some other scary task that I do not feel truly confident about doing myself? In other words, what will I lose and what will I gain, will my phone still function as a phone, wifi, internet, bluetooth and so on?

I appreciate any answers and help on this. I did purchase the "unblock" code and input it but for what it is worth I think I was taken. I read about a "CID" lock somewhere. Should it mean anything to me?

Thanks,
PTNFrance

restore to manufacturer defaults..no you wont loose your ability to use your mobile office. You're fine. what I'm wondering is once you restore doesn't orange's bloatware kick in and install itself anyway? I'd just load a different better rom if I were you.

Do the hard reset then before the bloatware install starts (You'll see a window pop-up that states the phone will be configured in 3 seconds) do a soft reset.

New ROM with no bloat. If it turns out that you're missing some nifty little peice of software that you cannot do with out just do another hard reset and let the bloat install...
