A Few Questions about Tilt & AT&T

Hey guys,
I have AT&T and an HTC Tilt. I am not on a data plan, but I have the unlimited messaging plan. I recently upgraded my rom to get the new ATT windows 6.1 rom. I recently got the TomTom program so I could free GPS without using data.

Data Usage Question:
I signed up for unlimited messaging because they said that text, picture messaging, and instant messaging was free. I tried sending a picture message the other day and when I saw a medianet timer I got freaked out. Am I going to be charged data for anytime I want to send a picture message or instant message? Is there any way around this? I just installed Modaco's NoData to ensure I dont use data.

Camera Question:
I tried using the camera but when I click on the button it takes a solid 8-15 seconds before it starts taking pictures. Is there a way to fix this or perhaps a better camera application. Also I was told it was a 3mp camera, but why cant I zoom in when Im not using burst or sports mode? Also, what are the best settings for dark rooms or night time pictures?

Miscellaneous Question:
What other programs or apps should I use to take full advantage of my phone and messaging plan?

Also, I am using Modaco's NoData program to make sure my fone doesnt accidentally use data. I made sure that: AT&T ISP GPRS and MEdia Net are both diabled. However on my Today Screen I can still see a H logo for HSDPA.
Am I still at risk for my phone accidentally using data?

Well I am some what new to having the Tilt, (was my wife's and she wanted a new phone). I was worried about the billing (being a penny pincher), I did not get the full package. Knowing that the tilt had wireless, I could use the net anywhere I could get a signal form my server or an unlocked one. Sending a multimedia message will hop onto the media net for a second, but you should not be billed for it. If I recall, it is all part of the 3G services. As long as you don't surf the net using media net, you should be just fine.

multimedia messages work by using cellular data. So if you use something like NoData to completely disable your data connection, you cannot send/receive multimedia messages.

If you have unlimited messaging (or any messaging package), the data used for sending and receiving MMS messages is included (at least up to a certain amount per message I believe). Any data usage other than that would incur charges.
