PhonEX from Iconsoft

I have used this site a lot in the past to trick out my phone, but I found an app today that I thought I would share cause it was the final piece to making the Tilt my perfect phone.

As an old.... well older person with a Tilt, I have had just one real complaint and that is the phone interface. I don't use the phone that much, I use it more as a PDA that just happens to have a phone, but still. The tiny little buttons, and small text, just don't cut it with my aging eyes (especially outside) and not-as-nimble-as-they-used-to-be fingers.

Well, problem solved. I ran across this cool app called PhonEX from Iconsoft. As I need to have 15 posts before I can post a link, you'll just have to google Iconsoft PhonEX to get the link.

Super simple install, and integrated seamlessly with spbShell and Plus.

It has all the features you'd expect from a phone app, but it's focus is "Stylus Free". That's "Stylus Free" not just for Dialing like one skin I found, but easy navigation with your finger for most any Phone call related function.

One of my favorite features is the Contact list Filter. I have a pretty long contact list. With the standard Contact manager, I must either break out the stylus, or scroll... then the scroll starts scrolling the letters and I have to be pretty quick... usually passing the letter I need.

With PhonEX, lets say I want to find a number of someone whos name starts with "G." I just press Contact, Contact, Filter, G (nice big buttons) and I'm in the G section. Or if you have your list categorized and have lets say a Category of "Family Members" you could just press, Contact, Contact, Filter, Catagory, and select the Category and you're there. It's actually harder to explain than it is to do.

Anyway, I have heard other complain about the small buttons, and I have been looking for an app like this for nearly a year.

Just thought I'd share the find.
