Yes, i am new to the forum and really need the help to all you htc wizards!

I just got this 8925, (more than likely im sure i got ripped off) anyways i got this phone and it gets no service what so ever, it says searching searching and then goes to no service.

Yes i have a valid sim card and did put it in the right way, i even did a master reset and nothing, i search for network and it does nothing but search and goes to no serivce, someone said that the receiver in the phone might be bad, or the phone is just defective.

My question is: Can this phone be repaired at all? any other solutions to fixing this problem?

any help is really appreciated!

Where id you buy the phone from? ebay? I would first try calling AT&T. Have you tried them yet. The fact that you say it is searching for sevrice tells me teh problem is with the phone. When I purchased my first smart phone I had to call AT&T to activate the phone. It may be worht the try. I have used the same sim card in 3 other smartphones.

I bought it from someone, i didnt have my SIM at the time so i couldnt actually plug it in and make calls, i looked at the phone and everything functioned good camera, music, wifi etc...so i thought the phone was good even though i had not had my sim card in it, get home then NOTHING!

i tried calling att, they cant do anything says the phone might be defective and that it needs a new circuit board, so i just bought another tilt for ALOT cheaper and im just going to transfer the cosmetic pieces over to this phone.
