Hope this is the right place for this question. Actually 2.

Enable Quick Menu is checked but the Quick Menu icon has disappeared from the Start Menu. Just a blank space where it should be. How do I resolve this?

Start Menu - not sure how to describe this. To the left of "START" are a series of icons. The first (leftmost icon) AFTER START is never a 'whole icon.' It appears as about a half icon with the missing part always the left part of the icon. At times it appears the icon is 'sliced' vertically. At other time it appears to be sliced diagonally, with the diagonal from bottom left to top right. Al other icons appear as whole icons. All icons work as they should. How do I get the partially missing icon to be whole?
