HTC P3300 ( HTC Trinity )
This is one of the HTC Devices I have had the pleasure of checking out. I spent more time with the HTC Artemis (HTC P3300), but I did give it a little hand time. The white chassis is very nice looking and feels solid, despite its plastic look. In fact, I never figured out how to get to the battery. I think this will be a hit. It is basicly an HTC TyTN w/o the keyboard.
"The HTC P3600 is HTC's next generation PDA, building on its successful predecessors the Prophet and Magician. Packed with technology, the HTC P3600 is the perfect companion for work and play. Windows Mobile® 5.0 keeps you up to date with emails, calendar and documents; it features 3G connectivity and is HSDPA-ready, delivering Worldwide high-speed internet connectivity wherever and whenever it's needed.
With serious multi media capabilities and a 2.0 megapixel camera built in, this feature rich PDA is ideal for messaging, video, pictures and music on the go.
Available in a high quality black or white glossy finish, the HTC P3600 will be available across Europe from September 2006. "
The HTC P3300 has a 2.8-inch touchscreen QVGA LCD display, 2 megapixel camera, 64MB RAM and 128MB flash memory with a microSD slot. It is a Quad Band GSM/GPRS/EDGE Phone.

This looks an almost ideal PDA for me, I have given up with HP now releasing the rw6828 so HTC have released their new range at the right time, for me at least anyway. It is for pre order on Expansys at £459.95. Which isn't too bad for the specs it has.

yeah the HP iPAQ rw6800 series is such a sad excuse for a Pocket PC phone.... i have lost all hope where it concerns HP in that regard... the Trinity looks promising... do u know where i can read more about the HTC Artemis..

hi.
is that sirf star III gps in the htc artemis?
and does the htc trinity use mini-sd or micro-sd?
and do you think the 200mhz processor in the artemis is more than capable to handle gps etc.
tbh, i like everything about the artemis except the processor.
btw, RICOUK, www.expansys.ie have the ipaq 6828 (trad. chinese language version) in the pre-release section of their site, if that's of any interest to you.

Not sure on the GPS it uses.
Expansys states both devices use micro SD.
I would have thought the processor is up to the job or elese they wouldn't have made the device and would not have made it the main feature.
You are the same as me, it looks really good, the features are excellent, just the processor is a let down.
I have already tried, expansys are not allowed to ship the PDA into the UK as HP have strict lasws on importing their goods. This is my main problem and I do not want to buy such an expensive item over auction sites. But thanks anyway.

i think its meaningless paying so much on an auction site...
but i have been reading a lot of posts in various different forums that the 6828 has a lot of bugs and people owning the device are in desperate need of a ROM update n that too fast.... i hope HP hears them out and im also waiting for a ROM update so that i can buy a device for myself...
i have my fingers crossed.....

hi.
on the expansys site the trinity is listed as having mini-sd under the technical details section and micro-sd under the features section.
can you say for sure it's micro-sd RICOUK. have you seen other reports elsewhere of it having micro-sd?
anyone else know anything about the GPS on the artemis?

I was only going by the expansys site, they have obviously got it wrong if they contradict themselves and another source states mini SD. Mini SD is better anyway, bigger capacity at th emoment over mico.

thanks lads for that.
the specs on both devices are very tempting indeed.
can't wait to hear the first users' opinions of the processor on the artemis though.

hi.
i see they have the tomtom navigation software pre-installed on the artemis.
can anyone tell me from past experience with devices like the 6515 (which also had tomtom pre-installed), is there likely to be any problem running different satnav software e.g mapopolis instead of tomtom on such a device when tomtom is already on it.
i thought i heard reports in the past of tomtom software starting up automatically and preventing the other satnav software from running when you start gps on these devices.
is this at all true or will this device run any satnav software.
