3125 Reception Issues

I was speaking too Cingular Tech today and he mentioned that he has been experiencing some reception issues with the 3125. Has anyone else experienced similar issues? I have not tested or used this phone, but perhaps we could get some input from any 3125 users out there.

Shannon, if you are tuning in, please respond and let us know if any patches or problems have been determined.

Thanks,

PS Sorry for any misspelling

I've been reading pretty actively over on XDA Developers, and I don't recall seeing any reports of it. I'd be interested in seeing as well though, as the 3125 would make a great backup phone for me.. Been thinking about it.

According to Cingular, several of the techs have experienced some reception issues and have consequently traded them in. It might be an issue with HTC. I dunno. Stay Tuned....

This PC Magazine review states: "In test mode, it showed noticeably weaker reception than the Cingular 2125, which has excellent reception."

Yes I am experiencing a serious reception issue. I can be standing next to a fellow Cingular user getting four bars while I get one bar or the "searching" message. Could it be the antenna? I went to a Cingular store in the mall where they have a booster and I get four bars and it works great. Any place else is terrible reception. So the phone does have capability to work but I wonder if it is my antenna or Sim card

I've had my 3125 for about 2 weeks now and have had no reception issues:

A) This unit is the first phone I've had that works inside our building, which is a metal building with stone facade. It's great not to be one of the guys standing outside in the rain.

B) It works inside my house, which is way the heck out in a swamp in an area Cingular maps show as moderate for reception. I've used the modem and been online for more than an hour with no loss of fidelity. Can't even get that kind of performance out of a landline with Bellsouth.

C) Reception did go down in a serious rainstorm and was slow to recover during the heavy fog after. That said, no better or worse than other phones I've had out here.

D) Doesn't cut our while driving, but sometimes I kind of wish it would. Goes from great to crud, to great to.... Maybe driving 75+ down I-95 in a Jeep Liberty is contraindicated behavior?

Have had issues with Xpress mail. Cingular needs to work the bugs out of that.

Overall, I'm really happy. Now. Maybe the buyers remorse will hit after the warranty expires.
