Besides the obvious visual features, are there any technical comparisons between(for example the radio signal strength) the Tilt and the Fuze? I will most likely upgrade to the Fuze in the next month or so but I was just wondering what to expect when I make the change. I'm not so hung up on the visual ga ga as much as the "I get a gps signal in 10 seconds instead of 30 seconds" stuff. Anyways any guidance would be awesome...

Great review. Thanks for the link. I went to the sprint site and I actually like their aesthetics better. Not big on the faceted and glossy black of the fuze vs. the sprint touch pro. The sprint version's keyboard is laid out better.
I don't want to get another phone via ebay as was the case with my 8525. Wish we could get the actual htc stuff instead of the bloated branded versions.
I'm getting a new phone tomorrow. its between the fuse and tilt. im up for suggestions. i get online a lot, use speakerphone a lot, use custom ringtones a lot, take lots of pictures, and text alot. which one would be better? the thing keeping me from just going with the new is the tilt screen on the tilt.
They will both do all of that. The Fuze camera is better, but for MMS msgs it doesn't matter.
If you need a phone, get a RAZR

Well, I've had the 8125 and Tilt... I love the Fuze, but I'm missing the buttons on the sides, especially the camera. To get to the camera, well, the shot will be long gone. I'm also having a bit of trouble getting the hang of the TouchFlo 3D - bringing up items I had no intention of selecting. I also need to figure out how to disable the PTT button, it's right where I hold the phone and keep having to get out of it.

Other than that...:approve:
No buttons on the side will be a downer. I have a Tilt now & miss the comm button that the 8525 had. To fix I just remapped internet explorer button.
That is one of those little thing you don't find out until it too late unless you play with the device before buying.
Yeah, the button issue I'm not to pleased about on the Fuze, lack of buttons on the side. Finally found a hack for remapping the PTT button.
I think the power button gets more accidently pushed myself, especially while I'm syncing it or installing software on the phone and need to move the darn thing.
But I really take issue with the left and right d-pad buttons having to be VERY precise pushes, that is irritating!
I'm leaning more towards the tilt and they are becoming more rare. Yesterday I went to a store to check these out more in person. They didn't have anymore Tilts. There are a few locally but most are out. The buttons, scroll wheel, and hotkeys really make the tilt more appealing. How much will I be losing out on over the two year contract I may sign to get a discount?
p.s.
Why are people on xda developers so cranky? It seems they expect everyone to be a genious when it comes to tech stuff.
Even though I went bleeding edge as usual and got the Fuze the first week it was out, I am hanging on to my Tilt.
For a few reasons, I feel partially guilty buying it since it was only a 15% improvement(my arbitrary number) over the Tilt, even considering I got mine for the wrong price of $229.
Plus, there has been two occassions where I have damaged my Tilt and had to send it off to PPCTech's for service. and I had to resort to my prior phone the IPAQ 6515.
Again the guilt is also getting me in that the Tilt was doing nothing wrong. Except for not being as snappy as the Fuze, but hey, I'm a Windows guy, so I'm a little used to the lag, for the extra benefit of customization.
The people on XDA Developers are so cranky, because newbies do not do any reading and post the same questions over and over and over and over. I will admit to having tech skills, but I had never flash a cooked ROM. I had just installed stock DELL ROMs on my X50v. If you read the wiki for your device, you can read all the information you need to flash a ROM properly in a couple evenings. If you have an issue, do a search. Unless your device is new, somebody has most likely asked and had a solution given for many issues. If you do not read before you flash your first cooked ROM, you are going to catch crap when you ask for help when the upgrade goes bad because you did something you would have known not to do if you had read the wiki.
I planning on getting a Fuze real soon. I am hoping the price will go down soon, because all the bleeding edge got to have it guys will have bought theirs. AT&T will then lower the price, so us more frugal people will buy it. Come on all you got to have it people, do not wait, buy it now!!! I am reading the Fuze ROM forum on XDA right now, so the day I receive my Fuze I will know which ROM to install. As soon as I order the Fuze, I will start downloading the Hard-SPL, the ROM and any CABs I want to install. That way I can get the upgrade done shortly after receiving it.
For all of you complaining about the response issues in TouchFLO and the AT&T Bloatware, check out XDA. They have cooked ROMs wih the bloatware removed. Many of the ROMs also have tweeks the drasticly improve TouchFLO response. Just removing the Bloatware helps the response issues quite a bit. Think you like one or two or the AT&T aps? They are available as CAB files, so you can install them and if you do not like them, remove them.
I agree with dlweston, i kind of understand XDA only 60 posts but i've read over 1000 atleast and i've never had anyone be cranky with me, Also i've flashed ROMS on both Tilt and Fuze, and would happily walk anyone through it, just PM me.
As for tilt vs Fuze. and all those things that the first poster described they did. I might say Tilt, because all the extra buttons, and the dedicated camera button you can text quickly turn and take a picture, turn phone and send the picture it's very easy with fuze less buttons so you have to navigate through touchflo 3d (which is sweet but not ideal)
i also posted in this in this forum, it's got a breakdown of the pros and cons of switching from tilt to Fuze. Hope this helps!
