Aximsitebluetoothicon Connecting Axim x51v to Fuze via BT

I am having some difficulty in getting the Axim to use the Fuze for internet.

I have them paired

I setup the Fuze as a BT modem and used the *99***1#, WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM, CINGULAR1 settings, both with and without the Wireless Modem app on the Fuze active

I have upgraded the BT stack on the Axim to WIDCOMM and setup PAN to the Fuze. I enabeled Internet Sharing to BT PAN on the FUZE.

While attempting to use the Modem settings, it does connect to the Fuze, and I can see 'activity' on the Wireless Modem app, but moments later the Axim reports a remote disconnect.

When using the PAN, the devices connect to each other, and IE attempts to connect, it cannot locate the webpage

If I connect the fuze via USB to my laptop or desktop, Internet Sharing works fine.

I will attempt later to use my laptop to connect via BT for internet sharing, to see if I can isolate further, but until then does anyone have any ideas?

At&T has locked down the Fuze to prevent users from using it as a modem unless the user subscribes to their more expensive data plan.

Fixing this is a simple registry edit:

Using a registry editor, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > Comm > InternetSharing > settings
DELETE the "ForceCellConnection" Key

Now when you open up the Internet Sharing application you should see the following options:

PC Connection: set this to Bluetooth PAN
Network Connection: set this to MEdia Net

On the Pocket PC you will pair the FUZE with the Pocket PC and create a shortcut, but instead of using the BLuetooth modem profile, you'll use the "Connect to a network" or Bluetooth PAN profile.

Then on the Fuze in the Internet Sharing screen, you'll select Connect and then on the Pocket PC, you'll tap the Bluetooth PAN shortcut you just created and presto! you're connected.

It works beautifully on my fuze, but I'm using the original ROM. Do you have both those options on the Internet Sharing screen?
