Touch pro unlocked

Ive been poking around, seems Sprint is getting the HTC Touch Pro? Im stuck with AT&T for a while and was considering getting the Tilt, (now the TyTN II) but after reading up on the Touch pro, it being faster and having more features, id like to get that, but if its for sprint, that sucks. ( i hate how phones are exclusive to one carrier)

Are the unlocks like 1000 bucks? is it even worth it? Or will AT&T eventually have it?

Maybe you may give AT&T a call and see if they will have this phone at all or will allow you to use an unlocked phone on their system.

Sprit & ATT use two totally different technologies in their networks. ATT uses GSM where all of the information about your account & such are link to the sim card. Sprint uses CDMA all the information is embedded in the phone. It is not possible to unlock a sprint phone & say use it with ATT. Now you could buy the HTC Touch Pro GSM version from someplace like mobileplanet.com.

Thanks for the info. Now I know
why I stick with AT&T - love the technology they use as well as using the sim card.

think im not going to get the Touch Pro/Fuze. Its just too much money unless i upgrade/new contract (which im not eligible for yet.) and i dont see many bolsting features that it has over the Tilt, least that i can tell. Plus ATT is messing up the keyboard for some dam reason.

Anyone have any thoughts on the Fuze vs. the Tilt?

I wouldn't pay $1000 for an unlocked Touch Pro thats for sure. We'll have to wait & see if AT&T does release the Fuse. Thought the mobility site reported it would be release on the 23rd but I could be wrong. That was just a rumor anyway.

I just bought the Tilt a couple of months ago & really like it. I would probably like the Touch Pro even more though. I would wait & see what happens.

No. Verizon and AT&T have incompatible networks.
