[TIP] - How to tether the HTC Touch

* This is not original from me * Link to Original *

I using tethering all the time with my phone. I used a non-freeware program called PDAnet until I recently ran across this tip over at PPCGeeks for WinMo 6.1.

Install attached .cab file.

1)Open Up your browser on your phone and wait for it to display a webpage.
2)Minimize the browser
3)Open up Internet Sharing in your programs folder on your phone
4) Choose USB under PC Connection
5)Hit connect (bottom left)
6)Turn OFF the Wi-Fi on your PC
7)Connect your USB cable to your phone & PC

Works like a dream!

tethering is using your PPCPhone as a wireless modem for a PC/laptop

on Factory ROMS, your provider has probably crippled Internet Sharing to force it to use a different connection in order to restrict you into buying a tethering plan.

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing\settings]
ForceCellConnection="ISP..."

Delete the ForceCellConnection value
