Occassional Lockup Requiring Soft Reset
About once per day, perhaps once every other day, it seems the device locks up and will not turn on. A soft reset gets everything working again, but that does take a good 1-2 minutes to complete. I also have to enter a password for startup that I programmed. Anyone else with a similar problem? Any ideas?

It is most likely because when you click on close, the program doesn't actually close. This was suppose to help in speeding up the startup of programs, however, after a while it slows the whole thing down to a stop. You will need to use some software that actually closes the programs, such as Wisbar Advance, Magic Button of SPB Pocekt Plus.

Yup same here. It seems to be a memory issue. It is even slow sometimes to actually answer the phone! This MDA is still a lot of fun tho. If you don't have a MiniSD card it is worthless tho. Moving over your pics, music and stuff over to the memory card will speed up the phone.

I don't think so. I already use SpB Plus so that things really do close. I was thinking it might be that the unit gets the power button pressed a couple of times in quick succession in my pocket. Generally, the device is a bit slow. As stated above, it seems to take 5-10 seconds sometime from when you answer a call till you can actually hear the other person.

What apps are you running? Have you applied any of the registry tweaks to help speed up the unit? Have you thought about overclocking?

During the day, at work, I run mostly pocket word, pocket excel, active sync (latest released version, not the beta 4.2 I read about tonight) and occassionally, pocket clock. On personal time I run intelligolf, yahtzee, backgammon, e reader, windows media. I have not tried overclocking or registry tweaking yet. I also have Mx Converter that I run occassionally both at work and on personal time. Another thought I had, based on a limited observation thus far, was that something might be happening when I unplug from the sync cradle and Active Sync is left running on the handheld. Do you have a recommended site for the registry tweaks and overclocking instructions?

I would love links like that as well. Also, those other programs that you guys suggested to manage memory and close programs is something I have to look into as well. How to we even get OS updates? I am not sure what site to look up to see the current stable OS.
