How do you dial with HTC Wizard?

I hope to get a HTC Wizard (Cingular 8125) but have a question about dialing.
Do I have to slide out the keyboard to dial or is there a way of just turning it on and punching in the phone number on the screen through some type of app?
Of course I know there is voice dialing. How well does this work?
Also, from what I've read this has vibrate mode. Do the call volume work well with as well as without a bluetooth headset?

Voice Dial works great in a quiet enviorment on the KJAM, not sure about on the 8125 yet.

As for dialing, you can hit the green phone button w/o having to slide out and a software dial pad pops up. You can use you fingers to dial, but make sure you have something to clean it with daily. Mine got messy fast. This is one of the drawbacks I don't like about the Kjam, one of the only that is.

You can also set speed dial for those frequently called numbers, and by scrolling through your contacts when the one you want to call is highlighted just hit the green phone button.

One more way is to search the internet using pocket MSN or Yahoo for a business, the results will give you the option to call just by tapping the word call in the results.

Or you can use some third party apps and add little faces to your today screen, that when pressed dial out! :)

Wisbar Advanced with the Wisbar Advanced Desktop plugin. But for the email and text shortcuts, i use vijay555 apps...these make shortcuts that can be used in any launcher.

Another way to add picture dialing: Spb Mobile Shell.

Thanks badersk. I am using paulya's buttons and they work a lot better than the default. Speed dialing is the way to go. Just press the green button and then hold down the number for the speed dial until it dials. I also use SPB Mobile Shell. I highly recommend this product for ease of getting around without the stylus. I already owned 2 of their products so I was able to get a 20% discount from their website. Very cool! Now if I can just figure out how to keep my phone from answering when I pull it out of the holster, I'll be set.

Beware.... the "dialer does not include a SmartDial version". This is big turn off for me. Of course, YMMV.

This is true. It is also why I don't use it.
