*sob* My 8125 is broke!

Well, it finally happened. I dropped it one too many times, and now it's broke. Surprisingly enough though, it isn't the display that's broken. Rather, the record button is definitely broken, and the green send button appears to be broken. And finally, the bloody thing doesn't ever seem to want to come out of and stay out of the bootloader. I managed to get it to come out a couple of times, but the second it soft resetted, back to bootloader.

So, I made a claim with my insurance that I got for it. It's off to be evaluated and go from there. In the meantime, I went and purchased a little Motorola C139 GoPhone as a temporary (and hopefully very temporary) replacement phone. Nice thing about the SIM cards, you can swap phones very easily.

But, I'm still sad.. It's like I've lost my best friend, even though it's sitting here next to me all broken. I've even had to resort to loading the device emulator to continue to be able to use some of the apps I use on a regular basis. Ugh.. I hope the insurance company can do something pretty quick with it.

This is a sign....you obviously need to keep multiple phones that you love almost equally....trust me on this one!

Either that, or get multiples of the same phone.. :)

Yeah, I'm going to have to. Using the emulator is a pain in the arse, and I really need a PDA with me. It's practically my lifeline with my calendar, my contacts, and a variety of other things..

Time to start looking at other backup options..

I still have my former under-contract phone, along with the one I normally use, which is actually second-hand from somebody who just had to have the RAZR (then promptly switched to the SLVR). I always carry one previous generation cell phone, just in case I need it. I love SIM cards too!

Yeah, I had a Nokia 3620 (think that's the right one) that was my contract phone. But I traded it in when I upgraded to the 8125. Kicking myself for doing it now, just because then I wouldn't have had to have gone and got the Moto C139 that I'm using. Although, I don't entirely regret it either.. It truly does get an insane amount of battery life in it. I've charged it twice: once when I got it last Friday, and once around Tuesday or so. It's still on full bars since I charged it last. Crazy..

Oh, believe me, I truly am thanking myself for getting it. It just paid for itself, hopefully. We'll see. The repair company now has it in their possession, and according to their tracking site, they've completed diagnostics on it. I'm really hoping that they can get it either fixed and shipped out today, or that they send me a check ASAP. I don't care if I'm stuck with the 8125, I just need my PPC back.. It's truly driving me nuts..

Although, strangely, I'm enjoying it not going off constnatly because of work.
