Hi,

As a long time Axim user I am considering the 8525. A friend has the 8125 and has read that using any wifi network, even his private one at home, will result in a charge to his phone bill. Is this true? Insane if it is. There must be a work around to solve this and not receive a bill from cingular.

Wifi usage will not be reflected on your phone bill. Just make sure you aren't really getting on the internet via GPRS or EDGE connection.

If you are connecting through a wireless hot spot or at home then why would you be charged? You are not using their network. Read this review on the 8125 & read the WiFi section closely. Cingular 8125 Review - Pocket PC Phone Reviews by Mobile Tech Review
