Hi there!
I'm also a newbie who is awaiting delivery of my Axim. Ordered it on Saturday and hoping it will be here by the weekend! My b'day is on Sunday and it's my present from the kids.
I did a lot of research throughout the net, including here, before I purchased. It was nice to see that although there were glitches to be worked out, people can come here and (most of the time) get the solution. I will make sure to do that Fake Server fix as soon as it's charged up.
I'm excited to learn all I can about the uses for my Axim. I know I want to use it for e-mail and games, but there's so much more.
At first, I was going to purchase the Treo (as another poster had written). But, after hearing all the problems with the phone portion, I didn't think it was worth it. People had a lot of problems hearing their calls, dropped calls, etc. I don't have any problems with my cell phone, as of now, and certainly didn't want to start. Yes, it would be nice to have an automatic wireless connection by having the smartphone, but not THAT necessary for me.
I think I made a smart purchase. Just hope I can find software I really like, to use with my Axim. Glad to be a part of this community. :)

Ok, the day is here! It finally arrived. I have it charging. The question I have is, do I HAVE to wait until the 8 hours? The power button light is green and the book says that is a complete charge. I'm sure you're going to tell me I just need to be patient, right?? LOL

You can use it while it's in the cradle charging for 8 hours. Welcome to the Aximsite family..!!!
