I came across this site through a search for Axim information. In the past few years I have tried an Apple Newton (borrowed from a friend cool devise at the time), HP 4300 (great PPC, but didn't see an immediate need in my daily life) and Palm Tungsten E (good PDA, but not enough bells & whistles for my tech obsession).
With the release of WM5 and Dell finally using VGA screens, I wanted to again try out a PPC.
I finally received my X51v, 2200mAH battery, Rhino hard case and Transcend 4gb SD card. I didn't receive my Boxwave Anti-glare screen protector yet, so my PPC is just charging right now.
Hope to learn a lot from this site and get great use out of my new device.
Great choice. Congratulations on your purchase and let me the first to wish you welcome to Aximsite.
You can use the Search function to find nearly anything you have questions about. If you can't find anything on your question, then just start a new thread. Someone should answer you in a short period of time.
I always wanted to play with a newton but never got the chance

My Boxwave is still not here. Ok, do I use my new devise or wait another day or two to see if this screen protector finally shows up? This is killing me, I want to use my new toy. :rolling:

It was a very cool device, although a bit large. The handwritting recognition was quite good, even for my very poor penmanship.
Hey, as a new x51v user, I too came across this dilema... wait for the screen protector or use? After some thought (due to a delay on my screen protector), I would actually use it first, but not heavily. I suggest you run diagnostics and check everything out to make sure all is well. Because the worst thing than not getting a screen protector on w/o problems is getting one on perfectly only to find out your x51v is faulty! I'm sure the orginal screen has some kind of protective coating that prevents scratches etc, that will at least hold up for a little bit until you get your screen protector.

Thx jw9v, I took your advise. I did leave the factory plastic cover on so it is a little hard to navigate, but atleast I am able to use the device. I have applied the "fake server" hack and just browsing the forums for other known issues that I need to look at or fix.
I forgot to add in my first post but I had looked at the XV6700 shortly before buying my X51v. It is a very cool devise, very compact and very sexxy (sorry I love tech, hehe). :approve: My only issue was price, I had to get the 2yrs/prison service agreement to get it for a reasonable price.
So far I am very happy with my Axim, although i have only had about an hr on the unit.
^_^_^
