Hi everyone,

I've jumped ship! I've been a Palm user ever since the very first model about 15 years ago. When my trusty old Tungsten E2 started to fail, I started to look around for a replacement. I hesitated between a Palm T|X and the HP Ipaq 210 (although I dreamed of a Nokia N900); but in the end, [I] got a good deal on a x51v

I hear it is possible to install WM6.1 on the x51v. For those who have tried it, does it work well? How does one go about getting this (unofficial) update?

Hi, welcome aboard!

It is possible to install WM6.1 (Actually now WM6.5) if you want. It is unofficial (Maintained by 3rd party developers) but works well for both my x51v and x50v. It is faster and more reliable than WM5.

If you want, I can assist you in upgrading to WM6+.

X51v

I'd like to hear your thoughts on the jump from the Palm to the Axim, I was a tungsten E owner in 2004 and found it very useful, but it lacked the connectivity (email, internet) that the wifi pocket pcs promise, my X30 has not even arrived in the mail yet and I am excited about the prospect of sniffing out wifi zones to twitter and google, although, without a mobile device I'm still not sure what use twitter will be.
