It's finally HERE :D

Hi there,
Just some small note to introduce myself to this nice community
Looking forward to my time as a student, I decided I had to do something before entering my new university for the first time. An Axim x30 was the next logical step :approve:

So I ordered a couple days ago, read all reviews I could find, found AximSite, read through it as well and finally registered as I received my Axim 'Ticket' ;)

I also ordered a new 18oo mAh battery when I found out that my university provides a free WLAN network, which brings me to my first question: I plan to use both batteries, and since the extendet 1800 mAh battery doesn't fit into most hard cases, I figured I'd replace it every time I take it out the case (meaning, within the case it would have the standart battery inserted, and if needed, taken out of the case followed by a quick battery change). Is this a wise idea..?
Or should I stick with one battery for one day and exchange them as less as possible?

And another thing that rather bothers me: I decided to charge the Axim the first time using the included cradle. I also new I shouldn't do anything with it until it would have charged up to the max. But then I bootet my PC and since the cradle was connected to the PC it turned on the axim. I immediately switched it off again, but now I wonder whether this has already 'damaged' the charging process and my battery won't be fully operational when I need it.
Can someone help me with this ..? Is it likely that the battery or the charging process is somehow negatively manipulated by this..?

Thanks in advance & Looking forward to participate!
-Pan

No you won't have damaged your axim or your battery.

I was too impatient to charge my axim when I got it. I just turned it on, discovered it had a 50% charge, and began using it.

that's a relief to know!

Just 1-2 hours left and I finally can take my baby in my arms
(waiting until it's fully charged really makes my brain want to drop out of my ears .. )

Your battery is fine...no damage done. Just make sure you charge the batteries the way the instructions say. I believe the 950mAh battery is a 10 hour first time charge. I don't know about the 1800mAh battery, but that one can be charged in the extra charging slot in the cradle. Congrats on your x30. I love mine.

Peace,

It says everywhere it should (at least) be charged 8 hours, so I decided to try to wait 10 hours to be on the safe side (since these 10 hours are not up yet, I might add that currently I think of this to be a very stupid decision ;) )
