A Newbie Newbie X30 or X50i which to buy?

Hi Everyone,

Just a few questions, would you buy the x50i or the x30??. And does anyone know where I can get hard cases in Australia????. As I said I am a newbie newbie and have never owned a pda but have ordered the x30 just wondering if I should have ordered the x50. Any comments would be appreciated

that depends if the CF slot and 64MB of ROM is that important to you? is it going to make that big of a deal for what you are going to us it for?

which X30 did you get? the low, mid, or high?

It depends on what you want your pda for before we can decide which one you need

Well thanks I ordered the high, I mostly want it to remind me of appointments, keep phone numbers, addresses, birthdays etc, I would also like to use it for the occasional use of internet whilst away from home. I am studying at the moment so keeping track of my homework, using a dictionary, calculator and taking notes would come in handy for me

Well for all of those I think the x30 is fine unless you need the vga screen in the x50v

Thanks for your help, I think paying $400 extra for the vga screen would be a bit crazy. I got my x30 at 25% off because I ordered it just before the release of the x50. Now I am just waiting for it to arrive. I feel much better now thanks again. :)

Next question do you know where I can get a hard case for the x30 in Australia and do the hard cases fit the extended battery?

X30! Definitely. It's still a great model. I would get the case from Rhinoskin! They are nice!

Welcome to Aximsite, if after 10 days of using it you would have prefered the X50 you still have 20 days to return the unit and get the other one. Dell's policy
