Palm to PocketPC

Another new member waving "hi".

I've been an active user of Palm PDAs since September 1998 (my last one being an m130), but yesterday marked "Day 1" with my new Axim X30 624MHz. I made the switch because my employer is standardizing on Windows Mobile 2003 and its native support for wireless encryption.

I'm still waiting for my desktop techs to install Outlook 2002 on my PC, and in the meantime I'm just getting familiar with the device. I haven't yet converted my several years worth of Palm contacts, calendar entries or memos, but I'm looking forward to that "challenge", hehe. So far I'm enjoying the new interface and new features, and this website looks great.
:)

Welcome aboard! I recently switched from the palm platform, also. A few years ago I tried the PPC OS with incredible frustration. Had this site been available I may very well have stuck with it. PPC has matured and this site makes the growing pains simple. By the way, you should be able to change your conduits to sync your Palm to Outlook and then sync all your PIM info back to your Axim.

it's great to hear there are so many converts to Windows Mobile. I was a palm user since 1999. In Dec. of 03 I bought the x3 and haven't looked back. I now have the x50 and I tell everyone I see how great it is. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

As another ex palm user I'd just like to say

'Welcome to the Dark Side'

The pocket Pc platform has moved on a lot since i first looked at it when i got my first clie, so i don't feel the slightest bit guilty about switching :)
