New Axim - Stand up and be counted
I am new to this site. It seems that every other post I read is by someone who has only just got a new axim or has one on order (like me )
There is obviously an established community who are helpful, friendly and a great resource for new members.
I would be interested to know if there is currently a surge in popularity (Cheap prices? Poor competition?) or not.

A better way to see would be to make a graph of the Joined dates of each member. I would expect a pretty gradual curve. I don't think there are a huge number of new people, its just that the people who have had their PDA's for along time, (x5s, x3's ..) have stopped posting so much.

It would be interesting to know what percentage of Axim users use this site. Do you think the pattern generally is a burst of activity at first and then over time interest in the site dwindles apart from the more dedicated aximsiters?

I would think generally less business users use this site, or at least a smaller percentage than people who buy it for themselves.

More than a year for me and I'm a relative newbie still, I own a X30 high. But I don't post much anymore, mostly just read. Speaking of which it seems like there are not many new main articles, they are the same for days at a time, used to be new ones daily...
I hope this site doesn't turn into a Blog like the Daily Gadget did!

I check the site daily. Sometimes several times a day. I try to post as often as possible, but probably not as much as I should. I am a pretty seasoned user. Check out my View MyPDA and you'll see what I mean.

I wonder if the administrators have any stats about membership?
bondr006 your resource page is brilliant, it will keep me going for weeks. It should have a sticky is it hasn't already.

Hopefully my X30h will be delivered by UPS tomorrow as they promised on the phone yesterday. This will be my first PDA, ever!

I was wondering myself if the introductions and newbie threads were always as active as they have been since I joined last week. I just assumed with the current pricing, there maybe was a surge in new ownership.

My gut feeling (based on no hard evidence whatsoever) is that there are slight bumps from time to time but the level has stayed roughly the same throughout this year (which is as long as I've been here)

Linked to my thoughts about this is that I am moving from a Palm Tungsten T which has served me very well, to an X50v. The TT was a brilliant machine in it's time but I just cannot see a great future for Palm now. I briefly considered a Lifedrive but to me, the X50v is much more the way to go. I wonder whether there a general movement away from Palm devices. Axim's are an obvious choice because of their value and power.

There does seem to be a lot of ex palm users here. I was a T2 person and it was the lack of WiFi that did it for me... despite being promised a wifi solution for 18 months nothing ever happend. And so when I saw a co workers wifiable (?) device with a huge screen and multimedia stuff (it was an ipaq btw) i decided to have a look at the 'dark side'. And the rest as they say is history
