Why is it I only have 30MB available? There is no ason that 64MB shouldn't be enough! I am barly running anything too!

Thats one way to solve things...

Go for a higher up series, like the 200 series, if you are still looking to buy.
Or you can always get a used pda from this site, if you dont need a new one and want to save some money.

For most people that 30 MB is enough. I rarely have issue with memory. The 111 has about the most memory available for a 64 MB pocket pc. Most people forget that prior to WM 5 that 64 mb was split between file storage and program memory. As long as you enable or run a program that will actually close applications when you click on the X you should be fine.

I think you are looking at it wrong. I look at it as this, with the 111 up and running and fully functional you still have 30 mb of memory available for your programs.

its programs with poor programming that demands loads of memory, opera 9.5 is sye candy but they need to sort thier ram issues. saying that i run skyfire, youtube app, google maps and metro all at the same time and have no memory issues the only app that gives me annoying messages is opera 9.5 but when u close the dialogue box it runs fine. go for the ipaq 210 if you want a brick, or stick with the ipaq 110 seriously it rocks. oh make sure ur installing ur apps on a memory card not device memory, runs a lot quicker

I noticed the smaller free-memory issue with my 111 but in actual use it doesn't seem to be a problem. The machine seems to use the RAM for a lot of shared code that stays loaded. I thought this might be a problem but it has not turned out to be an issue at all. The iPaQ 111 is a nice, stable box.

I'm also getting past the point where I care about micromanaging this junk. If the box runs the applications I'm using without problems then I don't care how much memory is left; as long as it's enough - which it is.
