Updating ROm on IPAQ 1940
In trying to solve the problems I've been having with Bluetooth on my IPAQ 1940, I've downloaded the rom update hp have recently released:

http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/fi...oad/20508.html

I've never updated ROM before, so what will happen to all my programs (including MS Reader), files, jpegs, contacts and settings? Will they all vanish, and if so how can I restore them afterwards?

Updating the ROM will wipe out your RAM and all of the data in it. Do a backup of your PPC before trying to update the ROM. HP suggests that you reinstall your apps after the ROM update is complete. In some cases users had success in restoring everything from their backup.

You will find your new calculator looks like crap, and doesn't have the currency calc anymore. I got the old files and have put them on a webpage for download. That way you can uprade but have the old calc back. A Zipped version is on there at around 100kb. The nonzipped files are around 200kb for all of them. Follow instructions on the page for download and installation.

The page is:
