Sync problem
Just a minor query, I guess.

Yesterday when I dropped my iPAQ into it's cradle I could not get it to synchronize with the PC. I made a number of attempts and checks, on the basis that I had probably done something wrong, (as usual!).

However all seemed to be ok.

I then checked the the Memory / Running Progtams link and found I had a number of active programs. I stopped all of these and tried again.

Presto! Instant synchronization. Is there a reason for this or should I always ensure that I have no running programs when I load the cradle?

It depends somewhat on what you are syncing but if you have files open in programs on the PPC that you are trying to sync then you'll often get error messages.

Also if any of those programs were using that port(even if there was nothing plugged in) Activesync would not start as well. I have a gps that plugs into the port of If I dont shut down the app or at least turn off the GPS connection then even if the gps isn't plugged in it will not allow me to use that port for any other reason such as sync-ing with the pc
