My iPAQ 1910 has a blank screen. I've tried a hard reset, pulled the battery for a couple of weeks and still no joy. What I do get is a high pitched, two tone chime similar to a doorbell. The touch screen does seem to be working, if I tap the right place, and it will communicate with the computer over the USB cable.

Any idea, or is it toast?

Sounds like your LCD went out. Dosent mean it's dead but it dose mean you have to make a choice. I hear they are fast and do a great job, it is well worth the money becouse doing it yourself is very hard. On the other hand it may be best to let it go and put the money twards a new pda, so the choice is yours.
