Cool Blutooth connection to Satellite Reciver Problem

Hi Folks
I have been trying to connect my recently acquired Bluetooth Satellite Receiver with my Ipaq 1940. This is running Pocket PC 2003 with Pro Bluetooth Manager Ver 1.4.1 Build 60.

I have paired the device and made a connection however Bluetooth Manager Status is showing no Activity going either way - the device is shown as BT GPS. From Bluetooth Settings I notice that the Inbound COM Port is 5 and the Outbound COM Port is 8.

If I run PocketStreets and look at Configure Receiver I see that it is looking at Com Port 5 for a response, and on the map the message states that 'The COM Port is available but no signal is being received'.

I have Autoroute on my PC so I decided to check that out - no problems at all; everything works fine. HOWEVER I did see from the Bluetooth Manager that the assigned COM Port was 7. So the obvious solution to the Ipaq problem was just to change to COM 7 and all should be well. But when I go to do this Com 7 is not an option. Nor can I change to any other specific port on the Ipaq. I assume it is not possible to change the port settings on the Receiver

Has anybody got any suggestions as to how I could resolve this dilemma? Many thanks for any help received.

What kind of GPS reciever do you have? I would try playing around with this little program called GPSInfo. It should be able to scan what port your GPS is on. If you read the literature that came with the GPS it should say what baud rate to use. I have a Holux 240 bluetooth GPS paired to my 1945 with good results. It has worked very well with every GPS program I have tested. I even get decent signal indoors!

Check out GPSInfo, its free http://www.easydevices.co.uk/downloads/GPSinfo.zip
