hi, how do i upgrade my operating system (Windows Ce ) to a newer version and what new version is out now and will my hp device support it.

Any help appreciated

Your pocket pc runs the windows mobile 2003 OS and there is no way to update it to Windows Mobile 2003 SE or WM5.0.

Even if you could, you wouldn't want to.

My wife uses a 1940
My son uses a 1940
My friend uses a 1940

They dont remember how to reset the pda.

I have a shiny new 2790 WM5, all the patches, 3 times faster cpu, loads of memory.
It needs reseting once every 2 days (at least), alarms dont work if wfi is left on with an sd card in it, Credant tools security (inluding the fancy fingerprint reader) turns the pda on at random.

Plus, the 2790 is sssssllllllloooooowwww. About 1/3 the speed of the 1940.

I'd take a 1940 any day. Its a rock solid performer. Enjoy it while you can. Dont worry about upgrades a long as its working. I wanted the latest and greatest and I paid loads of money for junk that HP wont/cant fix.
