Aximsitex3icon Time to sell my hx4700 me thinks...

This indeed look like a very good successor to the hx4700, and if the price is right, I'll be to my trusty hx4700 to make way for this
PDA: Palm m500 > Palm Tungsten-T > HP iPAQ h2210 > HP iPAQ hx4700 > HP iPAQ 214 Enterprise
Phone: Nokia (Various) > Sony Ericsson P900 > Sony Ericsson P910i > Orange SPV M3100 > HTC TyTN II > HTC Touch HD

Aximsitex3icon A little mistake...

Hi all...just read the PDF from HP about the 200 series and Chris has made a little mistake...he originally said:

"Processor: Marvell PXA310, 624 MHz
ROM: 256MB
RAM: 128MB for running applications
Display: 4-inch VGA TFT with touch screen, portrait oriented..."

But according to the PDF http://www.hp.com/hpinfo/newsroom/pr...ds_ipaq200.pdf and on the sales website Buy HP iPAQ 211 Enterprise Handheld(FB041AA#ABA), HP iPAQ Pocket PCs, HP handhelds and calculators, Handhelds direct from the HP Home & Home Office Store the RAM is only 64MB for running programs and not 128MB.
PDA: Palm m500 > Palm Tungsten-T > HP iPAQ h2210 > HP iPAQ hx4700 > HP iPAQ 214 Enterprise
Phone: Nokia (Various) > Sony Ericsson P900 > Sony Ericsson P910i > Orange SPV M3100 > HTC TyTN II > HTC Touch HD

A little off topic...

Who will carry the new HP Smartphones in the USA? AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon...?

Also, will AT&T be the only one to carry the new HTC Kaiser?

This truly is the HX4700 replacement. Only took them 5-6 years.

Now I just need to know how much and when!!!!!!!
I missed the CF slot! Looks like a replacement is at hand. Now all I need to know is where to get it and how much.

Question

Some clarifications would be appreciated.

1. 64MB or 128MB RAM?

2. SDHC?

3. USB Host?

The link for this device is now up at hp:

Buy HP iPAQ 211 Enterprise Handheld(FB041AA#ABA), HP iPAQ Pocket PCs, HP handhelds and calculators, Handhelds direct from the HP Home & Home Office Store
  1. Device is running WM6 Classic.
  2. Device has 256MB ROM and 64MB RAM.
  3. Device specs for CF slot and SD slot are vague. (microSD slot listed in specs)
  4. Device does appear to have a separate mini-USB port.
  5. Device uses a new 24 pin sync connector port.
  6. Device weighs less and has higher battery capacity than hx4700.

I would assume SDHC will be supported since this appears to be a feature that has been added to WM6.

YES! This is the replacement for my recently dear departed hx4705! Birthday this month, but I'm gettin that sucker soon after it comes out... Just wish it had a little bit more memory... YAAAY though! I Can't wait!!! Will go nicely with the hp 460 printer I'm gonna get soon too. Anyone know if it could work with charts in an excel file? if so, I'd be extra super-jazzed!!!!

except WM6 I don't see any important improvement over Axim x51v ..
I don't like on my Axim; it is slow in starting applications and haven't GSM and something like 3 G.
I see Axim's succesor in this device i-mate Ultimate 7150.

What do you mean about it? Price? Is it on market yet, specifications?

I guess there is a little life left in the stand alone PDA market.

Recently lost the axim. Need to replace with this.

Thank you HP!!!

P.S. HP states that this product has a three year life cycle. I can see myself using this for 3 years.

This screen has the same diagonal of 4".

The screen is cabable of handling four times the color. Think of a gradient with white on one end, varying shades of gray in the middle, and black on the other end. This screen has the capability of creating a smoother gradient.

Wow, HP hasn't given up on PDAs

Gee, now what do I do with the 4 HX4700s I stockpiled so I would be able to have use of it until I died....

Seriously... :-(

Still, I'll wait until someone here does a direct 4700 to 210 comparison before buying one. I remember how much trouble WM5 gave me, and how much snappier and less prone to crashing WM2003 is.
