Agreed
Ipaqsite anyone?

This is surely going to make alot of favorable noise in the standalone PDA world.

Dell's money has been taken pre-production.

Any word on when Innopocket will have a magnesium hard case for the iPaq 211?

This HP site seems to say it has 128MB : http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/q.../12781_na.HTML

so some clarification is needed I think.

It looks the same thickness as my X50, but a little longer - is that right?

Also, looks like they've lost the IR port (so no more universal remote control).

Still looks extremely tempting though, finally SDHC support.

Yeah ... the 200 might just be my next PPC. Sweet looking device.

<Edit>On the other hand after looking at the specs I'm not so sure. About all that I'd even potentially want would be VGA which I really don't need. I'd rather put 5 hours in the cockpit right now <g></Edit>

If it actually has 128 MB of RAM and a CF Card Slot and an SDHC capable slot, then it is everything that I think every one of us has been looking for in an Axim successor.

Unfortunately, I have, like many of you, found different answers to the 128 MB RAM question and the expansion slot question. We'll just have to wait until this bad boy is actually available for purchase before we know the exact specs.

First here is a table from HP with their current line and two of the new ones:

PDA - comparison results Small & Medium Business - HP

Then, here is the 210 in detail, and it states 64MB RAM:

HP iPAQ 210 Enterprise Handheld specifications - HP Small & Medium Business products

......and it REALLY blows my X5 away!

Looks like a good replacement for my x51v if/when it goes belly up! I wonder if we'll miss the 2700g graphics chip?

Yeah, but you would never know it to walk into a Best Buy or Office Depot around here. I was in Best Buy the other night and there were NO Pocket-PC devices any more - at least not standalone ones. They had a few of the converged phones (with the little square screens) but no more PDA's.

Oh well ... no biggie; just as long as they're still available online which is where I bought my Ax (obviously).

77MB RAM = 128MB RAM!!!! :waaa: :nw:

That 77MB would be available RAM (fyi)

Looking at the specs and software package this thing is going to get, it is worthy of making an upgrade. And the best Axim X51v alternative to come, the I-mate ultimate 7150 also amounts to it in some different ways, if standalone doesn't cut it for some.

I saw the IPAQ 210 will also come with a helpful BT DUN (teather to phone) manager to give it more online connectivity versus only using Wi-Fi.
