The prices right now are pretty comparable. In past WM devices, the speed doesn't really matter. The main advantage with a fast card is that when you take it out of your WM device and attach it to your computer, you can fill up a faster card faster. In the WM device it doesn't make a noticeable difference.

I would suggest going with the cheapest 16GB card you can find. All else being equal, I would pick SDHC over CF since you are more likely to be able to use an SDHC card with other devices in the future. (Memory cards usually last longer than WM devices in my experience.)

I don't think you can actually get a 16GB sd card...

SDHC maybe, but i didn't think they'd got that high yet.

16GB SDHC do exist... but you just need to make sure that your device supports them... CF are a lot more universal in size compatiblity (which may be a factor if you want to use it in multiple devices)

I found some 16GB sdhc card on ebay
sd 16gb, Digital Camera Accessories, MP3 Accessories items on eBay.com
I just worry about their quality in such low price.

For the speed comparison between CF and SD cards, I think the speed might matter when using some big applications such as GPS maps. Besides, faster speed means less access time, which might save some power from battery. Please point out if I'm wrong. Thanks!

After that, I found more function cards in CF interface than in SDIO interface, such as CF Ethernet card. If I want to use them in the future, I might reserver them a slot. Besides, my camera use CF card, I can use the iPaq as a backup storage for my camera if I use SDHC card on iPaq. What do you think?

Yes. You are right. I meant SDHC for 16GB. They certainly exist. Here is one for $80. SDHC is likely to be compatible with more devices than CF going forward.

Personally though, I would go with a 32GB CF card for the HP210. I mean, how can you resist 32GB?

I think 16GB is pretty enough for me. 4GB for GPS, 2GB for apps, 1GB for mp3, the rest 8GB for some films and temporary storage. I don't store same mp3 or films permanently, I change them often. So 16GB is adequate for now.

Another accessary confirms my decision to use SDHC card. There are converters that can use SDHC card as a CF card, which means I can reserver both sdio and cf slot for possible function cards.
It seems that general sd cards are slower than CF card in similar price.
