Aximsiteactivesyncicon I got a little change in my pocket going jingle...

Ok, I have been using a Dell X50v, (WM2003se) everyday since it came out. I have never had a problem with the unit itself. I listen to music on the subway, and use the PIM (PI2007) like crazy. I also have a bunch of other programs that I use and I keep photos of the wife and kids on it. I try not to waste everyones time by posting questions that I can look up with the search button, however I am at the point where I just want a new toy! I was actually considering upgrading my memory through PPC Tech until I saw this 210 a few months back.
Hopefully I am not wasting anyones time with these questions and any thoughts will be appreciated.

Is it possible and if so, how does one transfer programs from the X50v to a new unit like the 210?

Besides "my unit is not broke so don't fix it" are there any thoughts on why I shouldn't get this 210 (with the unit itself)?

Will this be an upgrade or should I upgrade my memory?:bang:

I doubt you can transfer your programs from your X50v to a device like the 210 since they are completely different devices, and also because they are running different operating systems. And with regards to RAM, it looks like the 210 has double the amount of memory of the X50v. Considering the age of your X50v and the price of an upgrade, it seems to make more sense to get the 210 if more ram is what you're after. (But you would lose VGA out though.)

You should be able to load most if not all of the programs you use on the X50 on to the 210. If you had upgraded to X50V to WM5 all you need to do is re-load them from your computer. If you were using 2003 SE then some may need to be upgraded. If you do a search on compatablilty with WM5 you should find a listing of the programs that people were able to move from 2003 SE to WM5. A thread on that subject ran a few years ago when WM5 came out. As for the difference between WM5 and WM6 just about anything that ran with WM5 will still run with WM6.
You may want to invest in an SD or CF memory card for the 210 at some point but you should have no reason to want a memory upgrade within the 210.
I would recomend you sit and watch the 210 forums before you buy. Put your purchas off until around June to see what others think of the 210 before you buy. I jumped on a 110 the first day they came out because the 210 was delayed. I do not think the 110 was a wise purchase. I find I like my iPAQ 2795B better and use it most of the time.
